The Southern Calamary, Sepioteuthis australis, has the typical 8 arms, head and body of a squid. Most squid species have daimond shaped fins at the rear of the body but Sepioteuthis australis has fins more like a cuttlefish, which extend right around the body.

Max size =   mantle length to about 40cms
